RCA Zen Garden

Mihn tran tan "chop chop"

In a world filled with noise, finding inner peace is important. My name is Minh Tran Tan, and like many others, I have experienced the challenges of reintegration into society after incarceration. However, it was within the embrace of nature and gardening that I found solace and healing. Surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle whispers of the wind, I felt a profound connection to the earth and all its wonders.

I learned the art of mindfulness – the practice of being fully present in the moment. Whether I was tending to the bonsai trees, meditating by the koi pond, or simply walking barefoot on the soft grass, each moment became an opportunity to find peace within myself.

For many returning citizens, the journey back into society can be filled with uncertainty and doubt. Through the simple act of connecting with nature, I was able to let go of the past and embrace a brighter future. Gardening became a sanctuary where I could heal, grow, and ultimately, find forgiveness – both for myself and for others.

Having a sense of community lets us know we are not alone on this journey. We are surrounded by a supportive network of individuals who understand the struggles we face and are there to uplift and empower one another. Together, we share our stories, our triumphs, and our dreams for the future.

The RCA Zen Garden, will be a place where we can display our healing, and where the seeds of hope will be sown. It will be a testament to the power of nature to heal, to transform, and to inspire. And as a proud member of the Returning Citizens Association, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my journey about gardening and to spread the message of redemption and resilience to all who seek it.

  2. In-Kind Donations: If you have access to materials such as rocks, sand, or garden accessories that you would like to donate, we would gratefully accept your contribution. Additionally, if you possess expertise in landscaping or garden design and would like to volunteer your time and knowledge, we would love to hear from you.
  3. Spread the Word: Help us reach a wider audience by sharing our project with your friends, family, and social networks. By spreading awareness about our initiative, you can amplify our efforts and bring us closer to our goal.

Why Your Support Matters:

A Zen garden is more than just a landscaped space; it is a sanctuary for contemplation, meditation, and self-discovery. By supporting the creation of our RCA Zen garden, you are helping to cultivate a haven of tranquility that will benefit our entire community.
